5. Above is example of how people of India have a relationship or interaction with their "Indian elephant".

Indian culture and their Hindu faith:
1. They hold a series of parades and celebrations from late December into the month of May across India.
2. This culture "highlights" the elephant as their sacred animal.
3. It appears to be positive,but is it?

A former Indian lady went back to her homeland in 2013 as a journalists. She collected over 25 hours of video and produced a documentary called:
" Gods in Shackles"

The above picture seems harmless and a positive interaction of people with their elephants. But is it ?
Now the actual truth will be shared. Write down your thoughts in your Journals as you here this story.
1. Yearly the people of India capture from the wilds the India elephant and treat them with a lot of cruelty.
2. There are only 20,000 left in the wild and slowly all becoming capture and suffering a terrible fate.
3. For the last 75 years this system of slow reduction is bringing a future
that will end sometime this century for the proper life of Indian elephants.

4. The 2013 study found that they are chained, beaten, becoming full of wounds and a lot of bleeding.
5. They will intentionally blind them, they will try to break their will, show no mercy at all !
6. In the parades, it might be over 100 degrees and yet the elephants are forced to march miles of a parade without any water breaks.
7. During the elephant mating season they will do terrible acts of cruelty to them, especially the bulls.

-------- they torture them for control and even after the mating season !
